今天给大家推荐的绘本《Harry the dirty dog》，被誉为“世界绘本的里程碑力作”。它也有中译本，中文名叫《好脏的哈利》，喜欢狗狗的小朋友一定不要错过！
《好脏的哈利》
故事是这样的：有一只叫做Harry的可爱小狗，它非常讨厌洗澡，为了逃避洗澡，它把刷子埋在后院里，然后离开了家。
它在外面到处溜达，全身变得脏兮兮，从一只有着黑色斑点的小白狗变成了有着白色斑点的小黑狗。
最后又累又饿的它终于决定回家。然而，主人们看到这只小黑狗居然没有认出是Harry。
最终，Harry是如何证明自己，回归这个家庭的呢？我们在绘本中寻找答案吧！
我们一起来读一读这个故事：
Harry was a white dog with black spots who liked everything, except...getting a bath.
哈利是一只长着黑色斑点的小白狗，它什么都喜欢，除了...洗澡。
So one day when he heard the water running in the tub, he took the scrubbing brush...
有一天，当哈利听到浴缸里放水的声音，它马上拿起刷子...
and buried it in the backyard. Then he ran away from home.
把它偷偷埋在了后院。然后离开了家。
He played where they were fixing the street and got very dirty.
它到正在整修的街上玩，弄得全身脏兮兮的。
He played at the railroad and got even dirtier.
它到铁路上溜达，变得更脏了。
He played tag with other dogs and became dirtier still.
它还跑去和其它狗玩捉迷藏，变得更加脏了。
He slid down a coal chute and got the dirtiest of all.
最后它竟然滑到一个煤坑里，彻底脏透了。
In fact, he changed from a white dog with black spots to a black dog with white spots.
事实上，它早就从一只黑斑点的白狗变成了一只白斑点的黑狗了。
Although there were many other things to do, Harry began to wonder if his family thought that he had really run away.
尽管还有很多事想做，但哈利有点好奇，主人一家有没有发现它离家出走了。
He felt tired and hungry too, so without stopping on the way he ran back home.
而且它又饿又累，就不再乱跑，直接回了家。
When Harry got to his house, he crawled through the fence and sat looking at the back door.
当哈利回到家，它爬过栅栏，坐在那里紧盯着后门。
One of the family looked out and said, “There’s a strange dog in the backyard...By the way, has anyone seen Harry?”
家里有人发现了它，说道：“后院里有只奇怪的狗...顺便说一句，有谁见到哈利了吗？”
When Harry heard this, he tried very hard to show them he was Harry.
当它听到这句话，想尽办法要证明自己就是哈利。
He started to do all his old, clever tricks.
他开始表演起了他全部的拿手的老把戏。
He flip-flopped and he flop-flipped. He rolled over and played dead.
它摇啊，摆啊，翻个身，再来个装死。
He danced and he sang.
他又唱又跳。
He did these tricks over and over again, but everyone shook their heads and said, “Oh no, it couldn’t be Harry.”
它一遍又一遍表演着这些小把戏，但是所有人都摇摇头，“哦不，这不可能是哈利。”
Harry gave up and walked slowly toward the gate, but suddenly he stopped.
哈利放弃了，慢慢地朝大门走去，但是他突然停了下来。
He ran to a corner of the garden and started to dig furiously. Soon he jumped away from the hole barking short, happy barks.
它跑到花园的一个角落，开始拼命地挖。很快，它从坑里跳了上来，发出了短暂而快乐的叫声。
He’d found the scrubbing brush! And carrying it in his mouth, he ran into the house.
它找到了刷子！哈利用嘴叼起刷子，跑进了屋里。
Up the stairs he dashed, with the family following close behind.
它快速跑上楼梯，家人们都好奇地跟在它后面。
He jumped into the bathtub and sat up begging, with the scrubbing brush in his mouth, a trick he certainly had never done before.
它跳到浴盆里，嘴里叼着一个刷子，坐在那里乞求，这可是它从没做过的把戏。
“This little doggy wants a bath!” cried the little girl, and her father said, “Why don’t you and your brother give him one?”
“这只小狗想洗澡！”小姑娘叫道。她的爸爸说，“你和哥哥为什么不帮它这个忙呢？”
Harry’s bath was the soapiest one he’d ever had. It worked like magic. As soon as the children started to scrub, they began shouting, "Mummy! Daddy! Look, look! Come quick!"
就像变魔术一样，孩子们刚开始为它擦洗，就尖叫道，“妈妈，爸爸，快看，快看，赶快过来！”
"It’s Harry! It’s... It’s Harry!" they cried. Harry wagged his tail and was very, very happy. His family combed and brushed him lovingly, and he became once again a white dog with black spots.
“这是哈利，它就是...哈利啊！”哈利摇了摇尾巴，非常非常高兴。全家人都亲切地帮它梳洗，哈利又变回那个有着黑色斑点的白狗了。
It was wonderful to be home.
回家的感觉太好了。
After dinner, Harry fell asleep in his favorite place, happily dreaming of how much fun it had been getting dirty.
晚饭后，哈利在它喜欢的地方睡着了，还开心地梦到他变脏的时候多么好玩儿。
He slept so soundly, he didn’t even feel the scrubbing brush he’d hidden under his pillow.
它睡得很熟，甚至丝毫没有感觉到它藏在枕头底下的刷子。
