National Day Floral Arrangements
国庆花坛
Mom: National Day is almost here.
妈妈：国庆节就要到了。
The floral arrangements in Tiananmen Square and along Chang'an Avenue have already been set up.
天安门广场和长安街沿线的花坛都已经布置好了。

Do you want to go and have a look with Mommy and Daddy?
你想不想跟爸爸妈妈一起去看看呀？
Child: Yes, let's go!
宝宝：想，咱们走吧！
☀ Arriving at Tiananmen Square 到达天安门广场
Child: What a big flower basket!
宝宝：好大的一个花篮啊！

Mom: Do you know how to read the words on it?
妈妈：你知道上面的几个字怎么念吗？
Child: Zhu Fu Zu Guo.
宝宝：祝福祖国。
Mom: Correct!
妈妈：对了！
If you want to explain it to a foreigner, you can translate it as "Blessings on My Motherland."
如果你想给外国朋友解释，你可以把它翻译成Blessings on My Motherland。
Child: Mom, what flowers are there in the basket?
宝宝：妈妈，花篮里都有什么花啊？
Mom: There are peonies, Chinese plum blossoms, China roses, lotus flowers, azaleas, daffodils, sweet-scented osmanthuses, orchids, camellias, and chrysanthemums.
妈妈：有牡丹、梅花、月季、荷花、杜鹃、水仙、桂花、兰花、山茶和菊花。
They are the Top Ten flowers in China.
它们是咱们中国的十大名花。

宝宝：哇，好多要记啊。
I also see sunflowers!

Are there any sunflower seeds in it?
里面有瓜子吗？
Mom: Silly girl, these big flowers are artificial flowers.
妈妈：傻孩子，这些大花是仿真花。
They are all fake.
它们都是假的。
There are also 10 artificial fruits - pomegranates, apples, peaches, persimmons, cherry apples, oranges, lychees, loquats, a watermelon, and grapes.
还有十种仿真水果，有石榴、苹果、桃子、柿子、海棠、橙子、荔枝、枇杷、西瓜和葡萄。
10 flowers and 10 fruits represent "perfection in every respect."
10种花和10种水果象征着“十全十美”。
Child: That's very interesting.
宝宝：好有意思。
Mom: Yes. Oh, the small flowers at the bottom are all real.

The yellow ones are chrysanthemums and the orange ones are French marigolds.

Mom: Good idea!

☀ Parked car and walked to the floral arrangement 停好车、走向花坛
Mom: The theme of this floral arrangement is the balanced development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province.
妈妈：这个花坛的主题是京津冀协调发展。
The orange one on the left is Beijing Daxing International Airport.
左边橘黄色的是北京大兴国际机场。
The tower is the Randeng Pagoda in Tongzhou, Beijing, a heritage site of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
塔是北京通州的燃灯塔，是京杭大运河的一处遗址。

The Ferris wheel is the Tientsin Eye, a landmark of Tianjin.
摩天轮是天津之眼，天津的一个地标。
And the right one is the Snow Ruyi National Ski Jumping Center in Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province.
右边的是雪如意国家跳台滑雪中心，位于河北省张家口市。

Child: Got it.
宝宝：知道了。
Mom, what flowers do we have here?
妈妈，这儿都有什么花啊？
Mom: The red flowers are scarlet sage and the purple flowers are spider flowers.
妈妈：红色的花是串红，紫色的花是醉蝶花。
Child: I know scarlet sage.
宝宝：我知道串红。
Grandma helped me pick them to suck out their nectar.
奶奶帮我摘过串红吸花蜜。
Mom: Yes, but pulling off the stamen is harmful to the flower.
妈妈：是的，但是把雄蕊揪掉对花是有伤害的。
We don't want to do that too much.
我们不能老这样。
Child: Okay, Mom, I won't pull them out anymore.
宝宝：嗯，妈妈，那我以后不揪了。
Mom: That's very kindhearted of you.
妈妈：你很善良呢。
